WHO WE ARE
Located in the heart of Sorrento on the Mornington Peninsula, we welcome members and visitors alike.
Founded in 1919, we have a long tradition as a local hub for celebrations, commemorations and community support.
We are home to the renowned Tom Katz live music venue as well as the fabulous Sorrento Thai Restaurant. In summer we welcome The Kitchen Sorrento pop-up to expand our meals offering.
Like Sorrento and Portsea, Jack’s Bar & Lounge and The Terrace are cool in summer and warm in winter and are great spaces for an event or a casual drink with friends in a relaxed environment.
Sorrento Portsea RSL is proudly community-based, volunteer-run and not for profit. There are no gaming machines - our club is fully supported by the hard work of our people and the generosity of our members and visitors.

New Spaces
The secret's out! We have the best value meals, drinks and live music, in the most relaxed environment in Sorrento.
There is a lot going on. We're upgrading, rebranding and extending our premises. We hope you enjoy Jack's Bar & Lounge, and The Terrace, our relaxed indoor/outdoor area.
Watch for Happy Hour times and stay for a wonderful meal at Sorrento Thai.

Now that things are settling down after those Lazy, Hazy, Crazy Days Of Summer, Sorrento returns to its relaxed "normal" mode.
And so do we at Sorrento Portsea RSL.
The Kitchen pop-up will return later in the year with its Aussie pub food classics under our roof.
Meanwhile, the beloved Sorrento Thai restaurant continues to serve excellent Thai cuisine - dine in and takeaway after 5pm Thursday thru Sundays. Click the logo below to see their menu.
Sorrento Thai restaurant is an authentic, quality, dining experience. Parada and her team operate under our roof and have served their delicious Thai food to both dine-in and takeaway guests for several years now. Time flies.

ANZAC DAY 2024
MEMORIES AND REFLECTIONS
What an amazing day we had!
An unforgetable Dawn Ceremony took place at 6am on Sorrento front beach at the Soldiers' Memorial. Extremely moving. Incredibly atmospheric. Perfect.
The service was followed by the traditional gunfire breakfast at our RSL. Special thanks to our fantastic volunteers who toiled from 4am to prepare everything.
The Traditional Anzac Day March and Ceremony followed at noon on the foreshore.
Special thanks to everyone who contributed: the excellent speakers, community and religious leaders, service people - past and present - the wreath layers, bugle player, singers, SPRSL officials and organisers. A wonderful snapshot of our community bringing their knowledge, experience and expertise to make the best possible start to the most important day on the calendar.
The capacity of our newly extended Sorrento Portsea RSL clubrooms was tested afterwards as we hosted a fantastic afternoon and evening, with a community BBQ and lots of live music from bands including our special friends, The Surrey Hills Mob who continue to amaze us with their music and musicianship and SPRSL "family" Cruizin'. Thank you so much for entertaining the masses.
We are a volunteer-run RSL, devoted to supporting our local community.
Again, our sincere thanks to those volunteers who made it happen again this year, and to all the members and visitors who came along and spent a dollar or two to help with our welfare and community programs.

OUR BIG BUILD IS ALMOST COMPLETE!!

Our “Big Build” program to expand The Terrace beergarden area has gone very smoothly and we are up and running with a wonderful new covered area for our concerts, special events and functions.
Community news
FLOOD RELIEF APPEAL
Sorrento Portsea RSL conducted a huge flood relief concert and a monster raffle to support the victims of the floods experienced in Victoria earlier in the year. Over 35,000 homes were affected by these floods and many rural properties and the families who farm them, are still struggling to overcome the devastation of this disaster.

SORRENTO PORTSEA RSL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Every year, we try to make a meaningful contribution to the education of the youngsters in our community through primary and secondary school scholarships.

“ARCHIES” ART COMPETITION
We live in a beautiful part of the world, full of talented people.
This year's inaugural “Archie's” Art competition saw over 50 entries from our local schools and they were amazing.
